OldSchoolDay Adelboden 2026

OldSchoolDay in Adelboden is a yearly gathering for people who love old-school skiing culture. For one day, the mountains are full of vintage ski suits, retro skis and a lot of colorful characters. The atmosphere feels playful, nostalgic and a bit chaotic in the best possible way.

I photographed the day entirely on 35mm film. The event felt perfect for analog photography — the bright outfits, the strong alpine light and all the small moments happening everywhere around you.

What I enjoyed most was simply observing people. Friends laughing on the chairlift, groups skiing down the slopes in outfits from another era, spontaneous moments between strangers. It didn’t feel staged at all. Everyone was just there to enjoy the day.

Shooting film slowed the process down in a good way. Instead of constantly checking a screen, I focused on watching what was happening around me and waiting for the right moments.

The result is a series of images that document the spirit of OldSchoolDay.
