Studio Noir
This studio shoot was not only a creative exploration of light, contrast, and expression but also a first test with my newly inherited Hasselblad 500cm and its accompanying equipment. The camera belonged to the esteemed photographer and neighbor Hans Baumann (1945–2024), whose photographic legacy I continue to honor.
Through analog black-and-white photography, I aimed to capture the essence of the portrayed individuals—reduced to form, texture, and emotion. The clarity of the studio setting, the interplay of light and shadow, and the deliberate staging were at the heart of this project. This marks the beginning of a new phase in my photographic journey with this special camera.
